Thoughts and Prayers

Whose true proffer sought glut, and fares.
Nosing through the trough, gut taught, nostrils flared –
Posing as though the Truth, not the coffer, was their care.
Foes whose prose, cocksure, actions lay bare:
Prayers for the pauper brought no fair share.
